Our members form the core of our organization. They volunteer their time to help with many of our current projects including the CALLS Center, the tutoring project at the Portsmouth Library, and others. We are continually striving to come up with more ways to get our members involved in Ross PHR activities.

Here are some comments from Ross PHR members who volunteered at the CALLS Center in Portsmouth:

“I actually had a pretty good session with my buddy Hosea today. He needed help with math and english, so I integrated both by giving him math word problems. He was asked to underline the verbs, circle the nouns, and then solve the math problem. We had a productive 2-hour session.”

“It was awesome, I felt like I was in a movie or something!!! I really enjoyed helping the young lady that I tutored; it was a very rewarding experience. It also helps me stay creative, because you have to find ways to reach the student. Thanks for having this program.”

And here is what the CALLS Center Director had to say about our members:

Thank you for all that you are doing to assist us with the education of our disadvantaged adolescents. I would also like to thank Rajavi Pabani for volunteering her time and talent at CALLS, even though she ended up having to leave for personal reasons. But the thought was enough. Perhaps she’ll be able to help another time if her studies permit. We wish her well and pray for her success on the mini and other exams.
