Some of you may know David, a globetrotter who sells beautiful ital bread next to the Shacks. He is going through hard times right now because his house burned down 6 weeks ago. Fortunately, everyone was safe but he lost everything in the house.

He is a single dad, living with his two boys, and doing his best to reconstruct a new life for them. He needs clothes (the boys are age 5 and 7), beddings, kitchenwares, towels, all the basics… Most of all, he needs the tools to be able to earn a living by himself. As he is a talented breadmaker, what he needs urgently is an oven.

This generosity brought our grand total for the Haiti Effort to $5,479.59 USD as of today.

All proceeds will go to Doctors Without Borders (DWB).

Thank you very much for helping out and spent time with the seniors today. The head nurse Mrs. James and also Mrs. Lambert were very grateful for our efforts to make the seniors’ lives more comfortable. They are looking forward to see us back there again soon.

We are happy to announce the Kimberly Fund recipients for this semester:

~ Shana Paul and Naomi Daisy are two young chronic dialysis patients at Princess Margaret Hospital who needed help in purchasing dialysis medications. They each received $2000 EC for Epogen supply.

~Mr. Bruno, also a renal failure patient at PMH, who is in need of kidney transplant, also received $2000 EC for dialysis and medications.

~On June 20th, PHR participated in the ISA Date Auction to raise money for the Princess Margaret Hospital’s Dialysis Unit. Another $2000 EC was donated for the cause.

We would like to thank the Ross Community for your donations during the Culture Night Fundraiser.
